Energy in Motion

'Energy in Motion'
Watercolour, Acrylic & Pastel
(13 cm x 9 cm)

Playtime! Add colour and see what emerges. Randomly adding whirls and spatters of masking fluid before my favourite watercolour process. Once dry I decided to play with acrylic dabs. Patience to let it dry once again. As a further experiment I thought, why not add some pastel? End result is what you see.

Playtime can be a good time to let go and see where the energy takes you. Trust your intuition and you may just be surprised.

Dragonfly Dreaming

'Dragonfly Dreaming'
Watercolour,  Soft Pastel & Ink
(15cm x 10 cm)

Dragonfly flits and darts its merry way without a care of how or why. Knowing the destination, dragonfly gives permission to enjoy the journey experiencing all it can along the way. Fleeting moments / memories created that can be reflected upon, once settled and resting at its new found ground.

Created firstly by drawing with ink, masking fluid before painting with watercolour. Once dry I added slight touches of soft pastel as an experiment.

Snake - In the Open

"In the Open"
Watercolour (420 mm x 300 mm)

Developed by firstly adding watercolour, salt and plastic wrap on the page. In the open space seemed to have the faint expression of the snake that has emerged.

This is my submission in this year's Pinjarra Art Exhibition, Western Australia, this weekend opening 31 May to 2 June 2014 from 10 am to 4 pm.

Enjoy!

Colours Within - SOLD

Colours Within
Watercolours, 290 mm x 420 mm

Using the beautiful flow of watercolours, this painting formed intuitively. With both rock and tabl salt thrown over the page,I then scrunched gladwrap. Once dry I gently peeled back the gladwrap, brushing away the salt I stood back and to my delight, saw the 'Buddha' figure emerge.
