Present

Present
Acrylic on Canvas
255 mm x 300 mm

"Where would I be, other than to be in this moment.
To place myself forward and present myself to the world."

A wonderful play of paint and colour, masking tape and my ever trusty, water spray bottle. Always a risk to put yourself out there, the reward is the pleasure of sharing. Hope you enjoy!

Desert Rose - SOLD

Desert Rose
Acrylic on Canvas
(750 mm x 500 mm)

I always find painting a welcome escape, to put the world aside and find peace within. After an intense couple of weeks it feels so good to find the light once again.

The Desert Rose emerges, rising above all that has been to re-establish its rightful place.

Love, Happiness and Laughter to all. May you shine in your own light and be the best version of you.

All that Jazz

All that Jazz!
Acrylic on Canvas
510 mm x 410 mm

With Easter almost upon us, I felt my heart longing for my home town where Easter brings the city alive with the Jazz Festival. Streets, bars and cafes are lined with awesome talent. Locals and visitors alike, come pouring in to town, wondering in and out. The vibe relaxes its followers as they sip a glass or two, chat to friends and strangers. Hips sway as a brave few allow their spirit to soar with their 'original' dance moves.

So on went my Norah Jones, brushes in hand dancing on the canvas until my saxophone emerged! Whatever genre of music you enjoy, take some time to enjoy and maybe bust out a few dance moves of your own!

Break Free

'Break Free'
Oil Pastel on Paper
290 mm x 330 mm

Here's a wonderful exercise when you are feeling stuck and frustrated or scattered.

Firstly take a piece of A4 cartridge paper and scribble to your heart content. Look for spaces that present a reasonable size shape. Cut them out discarding the rest (Mine are the green shapes). Now arrange the pieces onto a bigger page or canvas until you are happy with the configuration. Loosely draw around the shapes. Let go, break free and see those fragments create a new image. How does that feel? Does it mean anything to you? Does the exercise in itself bring a release?

In this background is a loose image of box with  my pieces breaking free.

Give it a go. Have fun!

Breath of Silence - SOLD

'Breath of Silence'
300 mm x 150 mm
Acrylic on Canvas SOLD

I have to say, this is one of the most tranquil painting experiences I've ever had. The paint flowed with ease as the image gently appeared. Softly, calmly with my paint brush I use for painting walls in hand, it glanced across the canvas. Amazing what can be created when I let go of expectations. Maybe there is a lesson in there somewhere!

Wisdom through the Ages - SOLD

'Wisdom Through The Ages'
(40 cm x 75 cm)
Medium: Acrylic on Canvas

Inspired through my work with families, my painting took me on a journey. Three generations caring and supporting each other, sit upon the rocks gaining a higher perspective of nature's vista. The stormy sea brings a breath of fresh salt air. Dolphins surface as they journey across the bay.

I wonder what is being said and shared? What is in silence; in the state of 'being'? I wonder if this place has meaning or whether it is a scenic detour? Whatever it may be, I get the feeling of this special bond. A true blessing!

It was my great pleasure to donate this to the Rockingham Kwinana Chamber of Commerce International Women's Day Silent Auction. Proceeds went to the wonderful Lucy Saw Women's Refuge who do such valuable work within our community.
